Before we get going here let's get something straight and that is this. You're free to disagree on this, but you're dummy if you do. Now that we got that out of the way.
Sex is cool. Hearing Mr. Brightside for the first time is cooler. People have a lot of "I remember my first" moments. Their first time drinking, having sex, watching their team win a championship, and so on. I doubt many of them remember their first time hearing Mr. Brightside. I do. I was a young buck at a NHL game when I first heard the greatest song of all time. Dallas Stars versus the Anaheim Ducks. A day that will go down in history in the life of AB Blogs. A day in which my ears were exposed to the greatest musical creation in the damn history of time. Being the damn genius I am, it only took one listen for my ears to know I was listening to a masterpiece.
Wonder if those people in Glastonbury in 2004 knew they were listening to what would become the greatest song of all time? Craziest part about it is 15 years later, they ended up played the exact same song at the exact same festival. You want to talk about staying power? Let's talk staying power. Now 20 years after its release, it is still the highest earning song on Spotify in the UK. Greatest song ever. If you disagree you're wrong. No ifs ands or asses about it. Play it at your wedding, play it at a sporting event, play it at a birthday party, play it anywhere and people love it. Shit, play it at my damn funeral for all I care. GOAT? No. GSOAT. Greatest Song Of All Time.
