The MLB playoffs start today so let's relive 5 of the greatest MLB Postseason moments ever.
Coming in at number 5, Joba Chamberlain getting swarmed by bugs in game 2 of the 2007 ALDS. Dude took the mound, got swarmed by bugs, gave up the tying run, just for the bugs to disappear the next half inning. Cleveland went on to win the game, and the series. You cannot convince me the bugs were not sent by the Cleveland Indians.
Coming in at number 4, 2003 ALCS Game 3. If you know baseball, you read that and already knew what was coming next. Pedro Martinez bodying 72 year old Don Zimmer. Listen, what was Pedro supposed to do? Let Donny boy attack him and do nothing? It could have been much worse. Pedro did right by Don by just letting him down gently to the grass.
Coming in at number 3, Roy Halladay's no hitter in the 2010 NLDS. Halladay needed only 104 pitches to throw a no hitter in game 1 of the 2010 NLDS. Today, guys are at a 100 pitches in the 5th and 6th innings. They don't make em like they used to. Roy was special.
Coming in at number 2, David Ortiz's walk-off in the 2004 ALCS. This was the beginning of one of the most improbable comebacks in sports which is what makes this moment so great. David gave no shits throughout his entire career, and this is a prime example. Series on the line, playoff hopes on the line, and he hits a piss missile to win the game.
Last but not least, number 1 in the AB ranks is my Angels winning the World Series in 2002. Do I remember it? Not a chance. Do I watch this video more often than I watch the Angels most seasons? 100%. The angels came back in game 6 to force game 7. We all know what happened after that. Looking back, beating Barry Bonds while he was juiced to the absolute gills, was more of an accomplishment than winning the actual World Series. What a time to be alive. Maybe one day this sorry ass team will decide to be good again. I'm not holding my breath.
